The Process
PLAY
Learning should be fun and engaging and that is why I incorporate play into every session. By centering around your child’s interests we can build motivation and empower them to explore.
LEARN
Learning is hard but it doesn’t always have to be if you know how to do it. And when children have fun, there are more opportunities for them to learn and engage with their environment.
GROW
Once your child is equipped with foundational skills, their self-confidence will grow and it’s more likely that they’ll feel empowered to take the lead and explore the world with joy.
Core Values
MOTIVATION
When your child is intrinsically motivated, they become eager and enthusiastic learners, embracing challenges with curiosity and determination. This inner drive propels them to explore their interests, build on their strengths, and overcome obstacles, fostering a lifelong love for learning.
INDEPENDENCE
Independence nurtures self-confidence and resilience, empowering your child to make their own choices and take ownership of their actions. With independence, they develop problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a sense of responsibility, enabling them to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and maturity.
LEARNING HOW TO LEARN
Learning how to learn is a comprehensive skill that allows you to attend, understand, and filter information as well as display appropriate behavioral self-control. By becoming adept at learning, your child can continuously grow and adapt to changing circumstances, unlocking a world of opportunities and personal development.
HOME-BASED ABA
Sessions are conducted in your home, in your child’s most natural and familiar environment. This can help generalize learned skills to everyday situations. It also allows for greater parent involvement, enabling them to observe and actively participate in the sessions. Additionally, home-based therapy can be tailored to address specific challenges or goals unique to the child’s home life.
However, it is worth noting that the choice between center-based and home-based depends on the child’s needs, family preferences, and the availability of resources.
Comprehensive Programming
A good ABA program offers individualized and comprehensive programming that views your child as a whole and includes all areas of development (language, physical, socio-emotional, and cognitive skills) in their intervention plans. It ensures that each child’s unique needs and strengths are addressed as opposed to following a protocol that may or may not fit them.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Parent involvement and close collaboration with families are essential to creating a supportive and consistent learning environment. With a focus on natural generalization, your child will confidently apply their newfound skills to real-life situations, making progress that lasts a lifetime.
